Bienvenue à l'école Bel Canto

Bien que j'aie étudié le Bel Canto avec mon professeur Julian Miller d'une manière très traditionnelle et conventionnelle, je me rendis compte, au cours de mes études, que les chanteurs dont le talent influence ait le plus durablement l'univers du chant étaient ceux qui consacraient tous leur efforts à conter l'histoire de la chanson. La véritable essence d'interprètes de Bel Canto aussi expressifs que Jean de Reske, John McCormack, Zinka Milanov et Jussi Bjorling émanait de leur talent de conteurs. Conter l'histoire, voilà ce qui leur permettait de faire usage de leur voix, sans effort, de la manière la plus belle, puissante et naturelle qui soit. Je m'attachai à conter l'histoire chaque fois que j'ouvrais la bouche pour chanter... poursuivre la lecture de l'histoire
